After investigating an ever-increasing clanky rattle coming from the rear of the car, I discovered that 3 of the 5 lugs on the rear right wheel had snapped off and were bouncing their merry way around behind my wheel's "hub cap" (if you can call it that). That put and end to my thoughts of driving to a mechanic to ferret out the prob. So by the grace of noisieness, I didn't loose wheel at some inopportune moment... Whew
